Music, art and television is our white noise, a buttress against the great Nothingness in our lives. We fool ourselves it is otherwise, because the proximity of our finite flesh brings fear. Clothed in a denial we did not choose it drives our preoccupations. Disingenuously we pretend to express a nebulous idea, but what is it? Only an ineffectual scream into the void. Silence is immanent. Successful art reminds of this inconvenience or deceives us with immortality. God exists. This much is true. But Love is Fire. His Being encompasses Nothingness; a paradox that can't be known until we stop tossing lanterns into the void to see what is there. Let the void come in.
